DONALD TRUMP USES BIBLE REFERENCE OUT OF CONTEXT WHILE EXPLAINING BOYCOTT OF DEBATE
Donald Trump has stated that he is
boycotting this evening’s debate because he believes moderator Megyn Kelly will
not treat him fairly.
In a recent interview with Bill
O’Reilly, posted by the Huffington Post, Trump explains why he is boycotting
the debate, stating that he will be hosting an alternate event which will raise
funds for veterans.
O’Reilly argues with Trump, saying
that he should participate in the debate so that the American people will be
given the opportunity to see him in a public debate forum.
SURVEY FINDS 76 PERCENT OF AMERICANS BELIEVE LIVING TOGETHER BEFORE MARRIAGE IS OK
A recent national survey has revealed that 76 percent of
Americans ages 18 to 31 believe that living together before marriage is not
morally wrong.
Charisma News contributor Larry Tomczak warns parents and
grandparents that this is a dangerous belief. Tomczak reminds his readers that
young people are being told from television, movies, Hollywood, and from
culture in general that living together before marriage is fine.
Sixty-five percent of young couples now live together before
marriage. Some of these couples also identify as Christians.
NIGERIAN PASTORS KIDNAPED
Two Nigerian pastors have been abducted this month in Kogi
state, as kidnapping cartels that have plagued the central state the past three
years directed their aim at Christian leaders.
In a departure from numerous kidnappings of high-profile
business and government leaders in Kogi state since 2013, gunmen abducted
pastor David Onubedo of Deeper Life Bible Church on Monday night (Jan. 25) in
Okene after a Bible study, according to local reports. In the same state in
Emi-Oworo village, U.S. missionary Phyllis Sortor was kidnapped on Feb. 23,
2015, and not released until March 6.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., son of the
late televangelist, endorsed Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump,
a move that will likely dismay GOP rival Ted Cruz, a Southern Baptist who is
banking on evangelical votes.
“He is a successful executive and entrepreneur, a wonderful
father and a man who I believe can lead our country to greatness again,”
Falwell said in the statement released Tuesday (Jan. 26).

TODDLER’S BEDTIME PRAYER CAUGHT ON BABY MONITOR GOES VIRAL
A toddler’s bedtime prayer in her crib has gone viral after
her parents posted a video of the precious moment online.
CNN reports that 2-year-old Sutton Whitt of Seneca South
Carolina pray on her own after her parents hurriedly put her to bed during
Sunday night’s NFC championship game. Parents Kathryn and Caleb Whitt went back
downstairs to continue cheering for the Carolina Panthers, but heard their daughter
speaking in her room.
"We started hearing noises upstairs," said Kathryn

MARCO RUBIO SHARES HIS FAITH WITH LOWANS LEADING UP TO CAUCUS
Marco Rubio fielded questions about his faith at an Iowa
event this week.
According to The Washington Post, Rubio “sounded more like a

An appeals court is holding oral arguments to discuss the

The Pastor [Saeed Abedini] who was recently released from an
Iranian prison is preparing to transition back into life with his family in the
U.S.
Charisma News reports that Abedini is faring well
considering his three-year long time in prison.
"His spirits are great. He looked in good physical
health," said North Carolina congressman Robert Pittenger who flew to
Germany where Abedini is waiting to return to the U.S. "I think he's come
out of it very well, mentally, physically, emotionally—he's engaged."

IRISH PASTOR ACQUITTED OF ANTI-MUSLIM HATE SPEECH
A court in Belfast, Ireland, has acquitted an evangelical
preacher accused of hate speech in 2014 for calling Islam “satanic.”
Dismissing the case against pastor James McConnell of
Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle Church on Jan. 5, District Judge Liam McNally
said courts must be “careful not to criminalize speech which, however
contemptible, is no more than offensive. It is not the task of criminal law to
censor offensive utterances.”

Turkish forces have reportedly bombed the village of
Sharanish, an Iraqi home to many Christians, Chaldeans and Assyrians.
According to The Christian Post, the bombings happened over
the weekend. Authorities haven’t released numbers of injuries.

Wrongfully Convicted Man Finds Jesus, Becomes Pastor
A man who was unjustly convicted of murder and spent 24
years in prison has turned his life over to God and become a pastor.
Christian Today reports that Darryl Burton was sentenced to
prison in 1985 for the murder of Donald Ball at a gas station in St. Louis.
However, after writing hundreds of letters to lawmakers and attorneys who
specialize in helping those who are wrongfully convicted, Burton was exonerated
and had his sentence overturned in 2008.
Before Burton’s conviction was overturned and he was
released, God had some things to teach him.
